POISON Drummer RIKKI ROCKETT's Divorce Is Finalized
July 6, 2017According to TMZ, POISON drummer Rikki Rockett has finalized his divorce from singer/songwriter Melanie Martel. The 55-year-old rocker and his ex-wife, who had a prenuptial agreement, will share joint custody of their two kids — 7-year-old son Jude Aaron Rockett and 4-year-old daughter Lucy Sky Rockett. Rikki will pay $2,000 a month in child support until the kids turn 18 and he will also cover their club activities. Melanie will get $1,000 per month in spousal support for three years.
According to the report, Rikki's child and spousal support payments will double during the months he is on a "full-scale" tour with POISON. Rikki also has to pay off a Dodge Charger for Melanie and fork over $45,000 from the sale of one of their properties.
Los Angeles Times reported last November that Rockett sold his home in Southern California for $1.05 million. Rikki bought the five-acre property — which boasted a 3,794-square-foot house in the Castaic area of northern Los Angeles — in 2011 for $665,000.
Rikki, whose real name is Richard Allan Ream, and Melanie met in 2006 and they were married on October 18, 2008.
POISON's reunited original lineup — Rockett, Bret Michaels, Bobby Dall and C.C. DeVille — kicked off its North American tour with DEF LEPPARD on April 8 at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire. The trek wrapped on June 25 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Rockett told NWI Times last month that discussions have been had about more POISON shows in the not-too-distant future. "We don't have any official plans at the moment, but there has been some talk," he said. "Right now it's just talk, but personally, I would love to keep going."
Rockett was declared cancer free more than a year ago after undergoing an experimental treatment. He was diagnosed with oral cancer back in 2015.
